Your Potential Is a Picture of What You Can Become

According to the dictionary, the meaning to the word, "believe" is; to have confidence in the truth, the existence, or the reliability of something; although without absolute proof that one is right in doing so.
When you were a kid, did you believe in Santa Claus? I remember those days of wonder and excitement, writing your letters to Santa and waiting to see if you were good enough to get what was on your list, but as I got older and I listened to what my friends were saying, and some little things that I noticed on my own, It started to make my belief in Santa a little bit shaky. I wanted to believe, but the truth in the evidence of the existence of Santa just wasn't there anymore. So I have come to the terrible conclusion, at the age of fifty seven, that there really is no Santa Claus. I hate to be the one to tell you that.
On a more serious note, do you believe in yourself? Remember that believe means to have confidence in the truth, the existence or reliability of who you really are. Do you know who you really are? I think that sometimes we hide who we really are because of the people, or the things that those people around us, have told us about ourselves. You will become a product of your environment, even if your environment is lying.
I grew up in a very unloving home. It was a home where we were never encouraged or given pats on the back for our successes. We never really had to many, and when we did they were either not acknowledged or we were ridiculed for even trying to do them. I was always told that I would never be able to achieve anything worthwhile.
But there was always an uncontrollable drive to compete, be competitive, and win. This stir was noticed by a coach and teacher in one of my schools that took me under his arm. He worked with me, encouraged me, and told me that I was good at sports and I should go out and tryout for some of the teams. This man gave me the hope and stirred the belief in myself, that I am good at things and if I work hard I can achieve success.
Well it took a long time but that seed of belief he planted in me started to sprout. I started to play sports and I realized that I could run fast, and I could hit the ball pretty good too. My confidence in the truth of which I really was, and not the lies that everybody else told me about myself, started to make me stronger, more confident, and more persistent in my drive to succeed.
Where are you? Your potential is a picture of what you can become. You believing in that potential helps you see it more clearly, and give you the strength to reach out, grab it, and make that truth a reality.
97% of the world's population lives in a box that was molded by what everyone else said about them, and only 3% ever get out of that box, and reach for that truth that they know and have living in themselves. If you're reading this article, you are a part of that three percent.
Don't believe or listen to what someone else said or is saying about you and your dreams. Take a long look in your own heart. What do you see? What do you want to achieve? What is there? Take that inventory of yourself, and then take the necessary steps to training and moves you need to do to get on that road to the success you deserve.
Do you believe? I believe. I believe in you and I know that you can do it.
Please leave your comments and let me know what you are doing and the road that you're on.
I want to leave you with a short video from the movie, "Miracle on Ice". It's about the men's hockey team who won the gold medal in the 1980 Winter Olympics. This was a team made up of young college players and they were going up against one of the best hockey teams in the world, from the Soviet Union. This Red Army team was made up of men who did nothing else but play hockey. It was one of the greatest moments in sports history, and the video clip is from the speech, coach Herb Brooks, gives to his team before they go out to face, what everybody else told them would be an easy Red Army win. Listen to what he tells these boys and take it as if he is talking to you.

How To Develop Faith In Your Purpose

True believing is not a mental state. Granted that it may cause a mental state, it is spiritual in nature. Faith is of the heart. It goes beyond the reasoning faculties of the mind. A person who truly believes, knows in their "gut" that regardless of how things appear or what it seems like, all things really are possible to him or her who believes. Faith is a must for the accomplishing of the purpose and dreams we carry. We must believe in that purpose. We must believe that it is something we are born to do, something God wants us to attain. And we must believe that with His grace and help, we can and will do it, period. The risks do not matter to the person who believes. Challenges are a part of the package. If we truly have faith in our goals and what the fulfillment of those plans can do for us, our families and the good of man-kind, then we should have a "no quitting" attitude about us. Winners do not quit, because they believe that they can have what they want.
What does it mean to believe? It describes the dreamer who has an inward knowing that what they desire is possible, available to them and attainable. When we discover our purpose in life, it literally causes faith to commence within, a sense of understanding that we are not on earth to merely exist, but to do something great, be something great, effect the lives of others for good and make a difference before we leave here.
The person who has perceived their purpose and sets his or her sight to the accomplishing of that purpose must ensure that faith is developed in the heart concerning that dream consistently. Faith is a belief so strong within, that it out-weighs, out-shines, out-lasts and out-runs all of the distractions, obstacles and hurdles which will be encountered.
How can faith be developed? Here are five tips for growing in faith to fulfill your God-ordained purpose:
1. Faith is built by words. If you constantly feed your dreams and purpose by hearing positive words, words which impress more and more upon your heart that your dream is possible, faith will continue to rise within you, flushing out doubts and fears. Be careful of who you stay around. You need people around you who are constantly speaking positively to you. People who understand that, with God, all things are possible.
2. Speak words of faith to yourself continually. Faith comes by hearing. You can hear others speak words of faith, or you can speak them yourself.
3. God's Word, the Bible, is the Word of Faith. So feed upon it daily and speak it. It will change your life.
4. Take bold and aggressive steps toward the fulfillment of your goals. Do it daily. Do it persistently. Remember that faith is much more than mentally believing that something is possible. Faith is acting on what you believe. If there is no action, you really do not believe.
5. Always ask God to strengthen you in faith. He is always a very present help to those who seek Him.

How Deep Are Your Prayers?

When you pray for thanksgiving you are praying the prayer of much love. When God hears your prayers He knows your heart-- as Jesus has told us in Mathew 6:7-8 when He said -do not keep babbling on like the pagans do. The deepness of your prayers lie in your heart, where God sees it all. But if you think you can pray for something that is not in your best interest or if it's not for the good of the Kingdom, it is not going anywhere. When we pray, let us remember who we are praying to- not Saints, Mary, Moses or Elijah but to Jesus, directly to Jesus. There are prayers that are ritualistic that babble on, but Jesus clearly says in Mathew 6:9-14 how to pray. (The Lord's Prayer)
All prayers are heard, but are you praying for the right thing? Are you praying peace in the world, for your family? The moment you release your prayers God will be releasing to you the best known love that can go with it, the prayers of your heart. We don't know what happens to our prayers when God hears them but we know that He is able to guide us to the answers that enable us to commit our day to Him in the best way possible. For all we know is what God himself bestows on us for the time. We don't know how things will develop but we know that He will take care of it and He knows best-- for ritualistic prayer is just a babbling not an asking. Be known to God that the deepness of our prayers are as deep as we want to go in trusting and abiding in Him. We don't know what will happen but we know that our trust, faith, joy today is in His hands- not ours.
Breath in and out everyday and ask your loving God for guidance and for hope for a day anew! SHALOM!

It's Never Too Late To Change

It's never too late to change - or so my mother used to tell me. But sometimes I feel I've missed the boat. Others have said the same thing. The more we indulge our weaknesses, the more our flaws seem to take hold; and the more we avoid those difficult challenges, the more dissatisfied with ourselves we become - and wonder whether ingrained personal habits can ever be broken.
Some of us may realise that we've stopped moving along our path in life. For the warning signs have appeared -- a medical complaint caused by an unhealthy lifestyle, a developing coldness due to the neglect of one's close friends, a loss of interest and energy for something we should be doing that we know deep down is important.
Not moving along life's path is literally true for me. In my case it is a canal tow-path near my home which I should be using for much-needed daily exercise. They say, 'A healthy mind needs a healthy body', but mine is getting to be no longer 'fit for purpose,' sadly through a long time of overindulgence. Sometimes I think I'm just naturally lazy and so have been quick to forget about the problem. And when I'm shaken out of my complacency, I only make an effort in stops and starts.
Perhaps that's the trouble with our failings - we don't like to dwell on them. Our mistakes sometimes need to have catastrophic consequences before we wake up and take notice; before we see the need for something important to change.
We may want to find peace and contentment. The trouble is such feelings are denied us as long as we turn our backs on what we see to be the truth; the truth that we can cause harm to our body by neglecting it, or the truth that we can do damage to our most valued relationships by not nourishing them.
Going out for a daily jog - or in my case a regular brisk walk every day, perhaps in cold wind and rain - may not seem like a deep issue; but something on the surface of life, like this, can be a spiritual matter if we do not follow our inner conscience. If I do not take control of my body what chance have I of taking control of my life? I do make the effort but somehow I seem to need an extra lift to keep at it.
To be honest, and I know it sounds pathetic, but after many years I'm beginning to wonder if I can win this battle unaided - not to mention a few other personal trials I'm facing. Many alcoholics accept that the fight to beat the demon drink cannot be won through one's own efforts alone and have surrendered to what Alcoholics Anonymous term a 'higher power.' When the going gets really tough and we realise we are just not strong enough to make that very important personal change and find a way through, then perhaps we likewise can humbly ask for help from the spiritual force in which we believe.
As HT Hamblin pointed out, our seeking must ultimately be not through mental effort, but through acceptance and surrender, 'turning the heart to the Christos'. This means accepting the 'disciplines and chastenings' of life, working through them and learning as much as possible from them and then leaving the outcome entirely in Divine Hands.
In other words, seeking a way through our troubles and failings is usually something to do with moving away from self - from self-indulgence and self-importance. We may all be complacent about some of this but how much happier we could become by both facing the need to change and asking for help - however long it takes in relation to different aspects of our character. I'm focusing on just one issue at the moment, but I'm becoming aware of other ways my life needs turning round. I don't know if all my troubles will be cured but I believe I can only do what I can do and leave the rest to God's Power.

We Are Gold Miners

"When it rains it pours". This quotation always has impact in my life. But what does the author has in mind when he crafted these words? Different people have varying meaning. For sure optimist individual believe that when good things arrive it will not come in one piece but a whole package. While the pessimist's view believes that when bad things occur every thing will do. What we crafted in our mind to believe will always happen. There was one time I had a very bad mood because all bills are due and we are short of money. All day I anticipated that the money we expected will never arrive and that our electricity will be cut off because of unpaid bill. It was my mind set the whole morning and the notion that made me edgy the whole time. I did not check my phone the whole morning dreading the phone call of my housekeeper that our electricity has been cut off. And when I arrive home, all the things I dreaded to happen but expected to arise has occurred and I was not ready. I set my mind for these things to happen and it happened. It was the pessimist's action. If I switch my mind to positive thoughts, it would have been like these; my bills are due and the money I expect will arrive; I can pay my bills this morning. Because I expected the money to arrive I will make the necessary phone call to follow up the person or company. Whether the follow up has come up with money or not I was able to know right away and I could have find other means to pay the due rather than dreaded the negative thoughts of not having money to pay. The input we made is the output we received.
We dig the ground to extract gold and we inch the dark and dingy tunnel because we want good fortunes. Good things do not come on the surface and expects us to just pick it up that easy. We have to arm ourselves with tools to help and guide us. And the only tool that makes impact is the tools of hope and optimism. Hope without optimism is like digging the ground for gold but not sure whether to extract gold or just the coal. You have extracted the gold but behind the years of digging you are not happy. While being optimistic you are happy and enthusiastic on the daily task ahead expecting that the good fortune will soon arrive. And when it does occur, you have lived a happy life while waiting.
Gold miners are people with high hopes and a positive outlook in life. They don't dig the land expecting no gold. They endure hardships and difficulties because beyond the tunnel is the hope of great things in life. Keep digging and tilling your life, after all good fortunes will surely arrive.

3 Ways to Help You Get Inspired in Life

Some times you'll notice you're out of concentration and makes you idle and nothing work even if you force yourself to do it. This is quite a natural state to every human. It always happens anytime and something must be done to make your idle time productive.
To remedy this unproductive time in your life and get inspired, I have identified some possible ways you can apply.
1. Seek nature's abundant resources. Believe me, there's no other substitute nature can provide you all the necessary inspiring things you want to supply with your idle mind. All the needed things you want are found within your reach nature have already provided mankind.
Anything you desires are given at hand. What you should only do is to look around, see what corresponds the solution of your problem. Try to evaluate the cause of your being unproductive and concentrate deeply, until you'll noticed a solution instantly flashed out without you knowing it.
Sometimes, we neglect the importance of nature's call for us to utilize the abundant supply given to us. We don't realized that anything we want for our self improvement, are all within us and we don't need to make some efforts getting them.
Make yourself aware of these natural supply you could avail anytime you want to grow yourself.
2. Take a days break or day off. One of the most inspiring ways to break out of a monotonous moment in your life is to take a days or weeks break. Go somewhere where you could recharge and enjoy a new experience.
If you enjoy going with your family or going alone, it depends how you manage the situation. What's important is you want to break your uninspiring moment. Taking a break could manage your self assessment into full gear and probably rectify some failures you've encountered in the past that hinders you from making progress.
This would be the best time for you to plan out some future projects you would open. It would be a great opportunity for your cleansing of bad elements that bothers you to be a new person and becomes more inspired when you start all over again.
3. Take a challenging activities. I've been in this situation myself, when I was introduced to a new challenging role I've never encountered before. My department head gave me an assignment I could not say no. It was a work foreign to me, but I was challenged, so I accepted the task openly.
Sensing that It was hard for me to do it, I was inspired to do some research, ask from experts, read some books and magazines. Anyone who could help me, I did not waste time to utilized those available information they provided me and it was worth the efforts because I was able to accomplished my assignment. I was given an outstanding score in my performance rating, a show of appreciation my superior given me.
You don't need to lay idle when you're not inspired to do something. Make your mind work by all means through some methods that would make your senses in active motions to invigorate the inspiration you would emulate to reach out productivity.
